Let me tell a story of a missed sale, where the protagonist lost tens of billions. A few days ago I saw someone say that Li Lin sold Huobi for $1 billion, which was quite lamentable, Here's an even more tragic one. This guy co-founded a venture with a few others; he was a shareholder and legal representative of a shady coin exchange. He endured until 2016, when the crypto space showed some momentum but hadn't truly exploded. The exchange hadn't taken off yet, with only about 20 employees, an office of just over 100 square meters, and modest revenue. He couldn't tolerate the endless grind, grew restless, decided to exit and start a new venture, leveraging his marketing expertise. After arranging his exit, he immediately opened a P2P marketing company right next to that exchange, At that time he was full of vigor; the marketing company practically occupied an entire floor (except the exchange's 100+ sqm). He even got a sports car, reportedly because he befriended a wealthy woman. In 2017, the crypto space exploded completely. The exchange he had just left saw its revenue rocket upward exponentially. Staff surged from 20 to over 100, and office space became insufficient, while the P2P business plummeted, leading the two companies to swap office locations. The exchange folks were ecstatic; ignoring the fees, the listing fee started at 500 BTC. Some projects, eager to list first, even threw in 1,500 BTC at once. If he had held on for a year, he would have easily received several thousand bitcoins plus various revenue dividends. Alternatively, had he not pursued that wealthy woman and kept digging in crypto, the outcome would have been completely different. But life has no "ifs". Later, unable to bear his frustration and resentment, he packaged the P2P company's business and launched a token. The result: he raised neither money nor any buzz. Moreover, the new company insisted on being next door to the previous one; he was once flamboyant, but later became quite disheveled. He quietly returned to his former employer to discuss token listing matters. Obviously, they still took his listing fee, because the project lacked any independent ability to get listed aside from connections. When the exchange cleared out, he sold the promotional tokens in his account—projects that were essentially worthless—and withdrew over 800,000. After that, he faded from everyone's view. He has not been heard from in the crypto world since.

If Dogecoin is a joke, it's the longest running, highest grossing joke in financial history.
