Nicolas van Saberhagen, author of CryptoNote & creator Bytecoin, put a backdoor in the code which allows him to steal coins or create inflation – even in community forks like Monero!

So you can never be certain about the supply, hidden inflation can happen at any moment.

Who cares that the code is open source and has been audited, battle tested, modified a lot since 2013? Van Saberhagen was a bad actor who premined a lot of coins for himself, has a record for cheating the community, and definitely will do the same to Monero through some esoteric ways which escaped the review of all genius devs.

How does it feel to read this, Monero bros? Seems fair?

Because it’s a 1:1 adaptation of the Zcash inflation FUD: it makes up a story, disregards the open source nature of the code that’s been audited + tested by some of the smartest people around, and maliciously ignores all the technical details.
