    Kraken user loses $18.2M An unidentified Kraken user lost $18.2 million in a sophisticated social engineering attack. This was not a breach of Kraken’s systems. The attacker spent over 35 days slowly building trust with small ETH transfers from the victim’s Kraken account, then rapidly drained the wallet. Total stolen: - 7,784 ETH - +26.5 BTC The attacker moved fast after the compromise: - Bridged 878 ETH (~$1.8M) to Bitcoin via THORChain - Used a SafePal wallet as intermediary - Quickly routed the funds to the no-KYC exchange HitBTC This gradual pattern is a classic social engineering tactic where trust is built before executing the final drain Stay safe, never trust gradual “test” transfers or anyone asking for access, even over weeks.

    It's time to fix Ethereum, once and for all. We cannot wait for slow uncertain 'zkEVM' giga-brained improvements for one second longer. Institutions are unwilling to deal with continued MEV and slow blocktimes in the name of some 'sacred cow' of decentralization. We need trillions of RWA IOUs, now, not tomorrow--Wall St. is waiting. So, today, I am submitting EIP-9999, which will replace Ethereum's slow, inefficient, distributed proof-of-stake validator set with a single mass-scale bare-metal validator, aiming for sub-millisecond finality and eliminating MEV. I call this 'SIngleton Validator Consolidation'. We're running ~1,000,000 validators to do what one mass-scale bare-metal node could do in sub-millisecond finality. Every slot, hundreds of thousands of attestations fly across the globe so that nodes can all agree on something they were already going to agree on.
