Alongside faster block production, this creates a new opportunity for Toncoin holders.

Validators stake Toncoin to help secure the TON network and earn Toncoin from two sources: transaction fees and block creation rewards.

After the upgrade, the reward for each block remains the same: 1.7 Toncoin per masterchain block and 1.0 Toncoin per basechain block. With blocks produced much faster (~x6), validators are able to produce more blocks, which increases rewards per validation cycle. As a result, TON’s annual inflation is expected to rise from around 0.6% to around 3.6%.

For Toncoin holders, this makes staking more attractive. As validator rewards rise, the incentive to hold and stake Toncoin to secure the TON network becomes stronger.
