Plenty of stablecoins have come and gone, but Paxos has been building for over a decade. Great to see the team launch a $1M bounty program to reinforce USDG’s security and push toward becoming the most trusted stablecoin.

In the past year, I plan to test some mainstream cryptocurrency payment channels (including U Card) in different countries each time I travel, to see whether using only these channels can achieve travel without fiat currency, completing all clothing, food, housing, and transportation entirely with U (including U Card) without directly converting to fiat (ATM cash withdrawals not counted).

Many friends may think that current U Cards or payment channels are either VISA or MasterCard, and as long as they work, that's fine, but in reality credit cards or debit cards cannot cover 100% of use cases.

For example, in Southeast Asian countries like Thailand and Vietnam, payments are more like China's QR code payments; if you don't have a local credit or debit card, especially a local payment app, it's very hard to use. Therefore, my testing methods are:

1. Whether it can be linked to Apple Pay or Google Pay.

2. Whether it can be linked to Grab.

3. Whether it can use local payment channels.

4. The wear (fee) relative to the local currency.

5. Whether it can withdraw from mainstream local ATMs, and the withdrawal wear.

6. Whether OTC is available locally, what the OTC rates are, and whether KYC is required.

7. Anything else that needs to be added?

All tests are planned to be recorded via video, and later a practical side‑by‑side comparison will be made. If anyone wants to test together with me (costs split AA), feel free to contact me; with more people we can test multiple different channels simultaneously, which is also good.

The departure time and destination are not decided yet; I plan to start with the most popular tourist countries.
