#Binance I'm not defending it, but many people don't realize that the funding fee mechanism works on the same logic (partially) across all exchanges, and they also complain… These are the types who trade futures and also give advice to others.

Let me explain to those unaware of the funding rate system: If a coin’s funding rate is negative, shorts pay longs; if positive, longs pay shorts (at specified times). The higher the funding rate (per contract), the more costly it is to maintain the position. So the exchange doesn't 'take' this money; we're talking about a payment that changes hands between traders on opposite sides in the market -> person x pays (or receives from) person y who holds the opposite position.
