Kusama is merging into Polkadot. Full sunset. $KSM holders get $DOT at 1:100. 90 day claim window then remaining KSM is burned.
The argument internally is that Kusama served its purpose. Coretime replaced the need for a separate testing chain. The dev resources maintaining two relay chains are better spent on Polkadot alone.
Referendum expected on chain soon.
