$IP https://t.co/XOYYvcxvVZ
With the benefit of hindsight bias, the situation in Iran and tradfi is so bad, it was reasonable to short at the middle of the range in no man's land.
i'm making money this week with an $IP short printing nonstop, but I could be making so much more money.
no man's land for entries
sitting in $IP short, took profit on $STRK short, missed the entry on $WLD short last week while on vacation.
otherwise doing nothing
1/ Trillions of dollars worth of intellectual property sits locked behind outdated rights systems and legal friction. @StoryProtocol is the infrastructure layer that changes that: tokenizing the $80 trillion IP asset class and making it programmable, tradeable, and AI-ready. https://t.co/YRdyyBjZr6
2/ Story just passed SIP-00009, a governance proposal that recalibrates two core network parameters: annual token emissions drop from ~25M to 15.3M IP, and the locked staking multiplier falls from 0.5x to 0.025x.
Here's why it was needed. Story's engineering improvements pushed block production well beyond original projections, but the per-block emission rate never adjusted. The network was silently over-emitting by ~5M tokens a year. On top of that, the 0.5x locked staking multiplier was pulling rewards away from unlocked stakers, creating misaligned incentives as tokens gradually vest.
3/ So what does this mean in practice?
Unlocked stakers maintain a competitive 6-7% APY on flexible staking, with higher returns on fixed periods. For locked validators and delegators, rewards drop, but this is intentional. As locked tokens vest over time, stake naturally migrates toward the unlocked validator set.
The result is broader and more even stake distribution across the ecosystem, therefore increasing decentralization.
4/ The Story Foundation evaluated 100+ validator applicants for its delegation program, selecting 60 unlocked validators across 10 tiers for a total of 60M IP delegated.
With a fixed reward rate per block, fewer tokens delegated means higher APY per token. Locked validators are excluded entirely going forward.
A delegation program built on merit, aligned with the network's economics, and designed for the long term.
5/ @stakingcabin qualified for Foundation delegations this cycle, selected from 100+ applicants across a rigorous 1,000-point evaluation covering infrastructure, ecosystem contributions, and long-term sustainability.
We're here to build. Contributing to the infrastructure, tooling, and ecosystem that makes Story what it is.
