FastNear just dropped a new NEAR Explorer and the tech under the hood is genuinely impressive. ClickHouse backend (same OLAP engine used by Cloudflare, Uber) - meaning queries over massive blockchain datasets run in milliseconds, not seconds. The API clocks ~270ms latency for most requests What sets it apart from other exploreres: - Pluggable widget system for tx detail rendering - extensible by design - Intelligent tx batching (20 per request) with background prefetching - pages load before you even click - Cursor-based pagination instead of offset - stays fast on accounts with 100k+ transactions - Fully open source lightweight frontend Worth bookmarking! NEAR Explorer delivers outstanding performance, with millisecond-level queries, worth attention

The widget system in the new FastNEAR Explorer is a true architectural gem. Every transaction detail page runs through a widget registry - each widget has a match() function + priority, so multiple widgets can render the same tx simultaneously, sorted by specificity. Right now it's just a raw JSON viewer. But the design means anyone can write a widget that pattern-matches on receiver_id, method_name, or NEP-297 event logs and renders rich UI instead of raw data. Ref Finance swap? Show token logos + price impact. NFT sale? Render the artwork inline. Failed tx? Parse the error into human-readable explanation Imagine a community widget registry where every dApp ships their own transaction renderer. Your explorer stops being a generic block scanner and becomes a protocol-aware interface that actually understands what happened - not just what was called. Still WIP but already snappier than anything else on NEAR

The goal is to make it both simple to understand for users and a powerful tool for developers. So far it's a bit more developer's focused, but we'll make improvements in the coming week https://t.co/bDUvWm8bva

What most miss about crypto privacy: CZ nailed the core problem. Nobody wants their paycheck visible to every explorer on earth. But the industry keeps trying to bolt privacy onto chains designed to be transparent. That's patching, not solving. NEAR approached this differently from genesis - native account abstraction where one account holds multiple keys with scoped permissions. Named accounts for everyday use, implicit accounts when you need pseudonymity, function-call keys so dApps never touch your funds. Chain signatures via MPC mean no single node ever holds the full signing key during cross-chain transactions. Took me a while to realize: privacy isn't a feature you add later. It's an architectural choice. When users can choose their own exposure level per interaction, the whole privacy-vs-UX tradeoff starts looking like a false dilemma.

(Lack of) Privacy may the missing link for crypto payments adoption. Imagine, a company pays employees in crypto on-chain. With the current state of crypto, you can pretty much see how much everyone in the company is paid (by clicking the from address). 🤷‍♂️ https://t.co/LRmuPHuMMf

relayers are centralized...not a bad thing per se but it's good to be informed what you're using (not sure how many people understand NEAR intents might kangaroo-court-seize your funds if TRM flags them but @vinibarbosabr has surfaced the issue well)...

NEAR relayers are centralized, user funds may be frozen, be cautious

The tech behind NEAR Intents is genuinely ahead of its time. Documentation and communication just need to catch up. That's how you build institutional-grade trust. Recent thread about 10 BTC frozen from an alleged Chinese darknet market operator using NEAR Intents brought this into focus. ZachXBT confirmed the guy was likely running FreeCity marketplace + laundering for DPRK. Justice served? Probably. But most users don't have a clear mental model of what happens to their assets at each layer of a cross-chain intent flow. When you deposit BTC into an intent-based system, what's custodial and what's trustless? Where are the trust assumptions? What can and can't happen to your funds in transit? What I'd love to see from intent-based systems in general: - Clear docs on custody model at each layer (bridge, solver, settlement) - Published compliance policies before users deposit - Which layer simply reverts suspicious deposits vs which one can freeze funds already in transit? - How do 1-click swap API and other integration APIs handle screening - can they serve as a verification layer before funds even enter the system? - Defined guarantees and SLAs for funds in transit - Roadmap toward minimizing trust assumptions over time All this case is an opportunity. The best protocols earn trust through radical transparency about their architecture.

i think that if you are running a service that takes custody of users’ assets there is a moral obligation (and a legal one, but this post was more on the moral aspect) to seize assets of people who are the scum of human kind, and this looks like on of those cases i would expect any service running on @ikadotxyz and chooses a custodial model (because you cannot do that with ika as well) to do the exact same, and i have no issue with what near did, it’s the right thing to do! the only difference is that with ika you CAN build a non-custodial cross-chain dex, in which the dex operators CAN’T seize assets even if they want to, plus ika is permissionless on the mpc level and way more decentralized, and has an imported key model as well, which makes any censorship on the mpc level either very hard / impossible (depending on the use case) on the bright side i hope this will at least finally settle the debate of whether near mpc is custodial, i hope @az_near and @jp_dawg and others who insisted that distributed =

@vinibarbosabr Near swaps are atomic (if you send funds you got something back or refund) but the 1-click API that most service providers use to integrate that service is permissioned. Without the 1-click API swap would not be as user friendly.

It is worth highlighting that the paper discusses the partial TEE case when the GPU is untrusted (no TEE inside GPU) and does not affect the approach of @near_ai where CPU and GPU TEE work together
